Jeffery’s Greenhouses Inc. is a leading wholesale distributor of spring bedding and potted plants, supplying garden centers within major retail locations across Ontario. We are currently hiring part-time and full-time Garden Center Merchandisers for seasonal positions, with start dates varying across the province throughout April. Successful candidates may also be considered for fall and winter opportunities.

Job Responsibilities
As a Garden Center Merchandiser, your key duties will include:
- Receiving and unpacking weekly plant deliveries according to provided plan-o-grams.
- Creating attractive and organized product displays with proper signage for an engaging shopping experience.
- Maintaining, grooming, and caring for plants to ensure quality and freshness (including tasks such as culling or deadheading).
- Building strong working relationships with store staff and management.
- Providing exceptional customer service by assisting shoppers with their plant selections.
- Keeping display and workplace areas tidy and ensuring empty shipping racks are properly placed.
- Conducting daily inventory counts of shipping racks and submitting accurate reports.
- Supporting inventory control by providing constructive feedback to supervisors.
- Adhering to all workplace safety guidelines.
Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience in a garden center or knowledge of plants is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and planning skills.
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with internet browsers and company websites.
Physical Requirements
- The role involves physical work, including walking, lifting (light to moderate), pushing, and pulling carts.
- Must be comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
Work Environment & Requirements
- Local travel between garden centers may be required.
- Access to email and/or a smartphone for scheduling and communication.
- Steel-toed safety boots/shoes (green patch) are mandatory.
- Candidates must be authorized to work in Canada.
Work Hours
- Monday to Friday, with weekend shifts required.
- Variable hours (daytime availability required.
- While these roles continue into the summer season, they are not summer-only positions; candidates must have daytime availability throughout May.
- Increased hours during peak season (May).
Compensation
- $17.75/hour
- Paid mileage where applicable.
- For positions requiring travel within city centers (GTA), monthly bus passes will be reimbursed.
