Jeffery’s Greenhouses Inc. is a grower and wholesale distributor of bedding plants with locations in St. Catharines and Jordan Station, ON.

We are currently accepting applications for a full-time Lead Horticulturalist at our Jordan Station location with an immediate start date.   The Lead Horticulturalist is responsible for the overall management, performance, and quality of plant growth at Plant 2, working in partnership with the General Manager and reporting to the Head Grower to implement company-wide growing strategies.

Area of ​​Responsibility:
This role combines advanced horticultural expertise with strong leadership, coordination, and strategic collaboration to ensure successful production outcomes. The Lead Horticulturalist oversees all growing activities in the greenhouse, including irrigation, fertilization, pest management, crop timing, and quality control, while training and mentoring team members and promoting efficient, safe, and sustainable practices that uphold Jeffery’s Greenhouses’ standards of quality and excellence.

Ideal Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate is an experienced horticulture professional with a strong technical foundation and hands-on expertise in growing green. With at least five years of experience in large-scale ornamental or potted plant production, they bring proven success in managing growing cycles within controlled environments. They are confident in using environmental control systems such as Argus or Priva, skilled in irrigation and fertilization techniques, and knowledgeable in integrated pest management practices. A degree or diploma in Horticulture, Plant Science, or a related field supports their practical experience, along with valid Grower Pesticide Safety and spray certifications.

Beyond technical expertise, this individual demonstrates strong leadership and collaboration skills. They take pride in mentoring and motivating their team, fostering a culture of excellence, safety, and continuous improvement.
